Carla Bruni, born in Italy, is the daughter of the powerful industrial and composer Alberto Bruni Tedeschi, and the actress and piano concertist Marysa Borini. After 5 years of life, she left Italy for the first time and went to Paris. She grew up in France and Switzerland. She began to study architecture, but she left at age 19 to become a model, even though she was the heiress of a large fortune. She worked for the most important designers of haute couture and ended her career as a model in 1997. She has a son named Aurélien, born in July 2001, after her relationship with Raphael Enthoven, a renowned professor of political science.
